Sabudhana kichdi/ Javvarasi Upma/ Tapioca stir fry


It is said that Tapioca and Sweet Potato reduces the LDL levels and increases the HDL levels, and helps in reducing the Triglycerides. In short, Tapioca reduces the bad cholesterol and helps maintain the good cholesterol. Let's eat healthy and live healthy. Do try this recipe and let me know how it turned out.
WE NEED:
  • Sabudhana/ Tapioca Pearls- 1 cup
  • Onions(chopped)- 1/2 cup
  • Potato(boiled)- 1 no.
  • Red chili- 1 no.
  • Toasted Peanuts- 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil- 1 Tbsp
  • Turmeric- 1 tsp
  • Mustard- 1 tsp
  • Cumin- 1 tsp
HOW WE DO IT:
  • Soak Tapioca pearls over night/ 4 hours.
  • Boil potato and peel the skin off.
  • Grind peanuts with red chili into a coarse powder.
  • Drain the tapioca pearls, add in little salt and peanut powder, mix until everything is well incorporated.
  • In a pan, heat in the oil, add in mustard and cumin, add in chopped onions, salt and turmeric powder, saute until the onions turns transparent.
  • Add in boiled potatoes, the tapioca mixed with peanut powder, mix well until everything is thoroughly mixed.
That's it the yummy, tasty and healthy Tapioca Khichdi is ready to serve.
