French Fries | Potato wedges

Vazhathandu Poriyal/ Banana Stem Stir Fry

WE NEED:

  • Banana Stem(chopped finely)- 2 cups
  • Onion(chopped finely)- 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil- 1 Tbsp
  • Mustard- 1 tsp
  • Cumin- 1 tsp
  • Urad dal- 1 tsp
  • Hing- 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves- handful

PROCEDURE: 

  1. Chop Banana Stem finely. Place immediately this in water so that the stem doesn't change color.
  2. In a hot pan add oil, add in mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and hing, once mustard seeds crackles, add in the finely chopped onions, curry leaves. Saute.
  3. Once the onions becomes transparent add in the chopped banana stem and add in the salt and turmeric powder, red chili powder. Mix well and close the lid.
  4. Cook until the turmeric smell gone. It will take just few min. Saute well and serve.
