WE NEED:
- Sooji/ Semolina- 3/4 Cup.
- Water- 2 Cups.
- Onions(chopped)- 1/2 Cup.
- Green chilies(slit)- 2 no.
- Vegetables:
- - Carrot(chopped)- 1/4 Cup.
- - Peas- 1/4 Cup.
- Oil- 2 Tbsp.
- Mustard- 1 tsp.
- Cumin- 1 tsp.
- Urad dal- 1 Tbsp.
- Hing- a pinch.
- Salt to taste.
PROCEDURE:
- In a pan, heat 1 Tbsp of oil, toast sooji for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep it aside.
- In the same pam, add in another Tbsp of oil, heat it, add in mustard, cumin, urad dal, hing.
- Toast them, add in chopped onions, green chilies, saute until the onions becomes transparent.
- Add in water and little salt. Let the water comes to boil, add in the toasted sooji, mix it while adding so that no lumps will form.
- Cove the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
- That's it, the hot and delicious upma is ready to serve.
