Vegetable Sooji Upma/ Semolina Upma


WE NEED:
  • Sooji/ Semolina- 3/4 Cup.
  • Water- 2 Cups.
  • Onions(chopped)- 1/2 Cup.
  • Green chilies(slit)- 2 no.
  • Vegetables:
  • - Carrot(chopped)- 1/4 Cup.
  • - Peas- 1/4 Cup.
  • Oil- 2 Tbsp.
  • Mustard- 1 tsp.
  • Cumin- 1 tsp.
  • Urad dal- 1 Tbsp.
  • Hing- a pinch.
  • Salt to taste.

PROCEDURE:
  • In a pan, heat 1 Tbsp of oil, toast sooji for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep it aside.
  • In the same pam, add in another Tbsp of oil, heat it, add in mustard, cumin, urad dal, hing.
  • Toast them, add in chopped onions, green chilies, saute until the onions becomes transparent.
  • Add in water and little salt. Let the water comes to boil, add in the toasted sooji, mix it while adding so that no lumps will form.
  • Cove the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
  • That's it, the hot and delicious upma is ready to serve.
