French Fries | Potato wedges

KOLLU IDLY | VULAVALU IDLY | HORSE GRAM IDLY

WE NEED:

  • Idly Rice- 2 Cups
  • Urad dal- 1 Cup
  • Horse gram- 1 Cup
  • Fenugreek- 1 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water- To grind soaked rice and lentils

PROCEDURE:

  • Soak idly rice, urad dal, horse gram and fenugreek separately for 8 to 10 hours(for US), 5 to 6 hours(for INDIA).
  • Grind urad dal with fenugreek, horse gram,  rice with water separately, Mix everything together with hand, add required salt to the batter. Batter should not be runny not thick. 
  • Ferment the batter for 8 hours. 

Making the Idlies:
  • Mix the batter again with ladle, pour the batter into the idly plates, steam the idly batter for 10 minutes.

  • Delicious horse gram idly is ready. 
Enjoy the healthy yet delicious idlies with any kind of CHUTNEYS you like. The best part is the idlies comes out really soft with out baking soda.
