Beans Poriyal | Beans stir fry


 WE NEED:

  • Beans(chopped)- 2 cups
  • Onions(chopped)- 1/2 cup
  • Garlic(chopped)- 2 pods
  • Red chili powder- 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste.
  • Oil- 1 Tbsp
  • Mustard- 1 tsp
  • Cumin- 1 tsp
  • Hing- 1 tsp

PROCEDURE:

  • Boil beans, onions, garlic, red chili powder, turmeric, salt and coriander powder in 1 cup of water for 7 to 8 minutes.
  • Take a wide pan add in oil, heat it then add in mustard, cumin and hing, let the mustard splutter  and add the boiled beans to the pan. 
  • Cook until the water is fully absorbed by beans. 
  • You can serve this as it is or add in the toppings mentioned below and serve it. Either way it will taste delicious.
Toppings:
Split Peas Powder-
    Grind split peas with garlic and curry leaves and add it to the beans.
Peanut Powder-
    Grind roasted peanuts with garlic and curry leaves and add it to the beans.
