Broad Beans Poriyal/ Avarakkai poriyal/ Pandhiri Chikkudu vepudu


WE NEED:
  • Broad beans- 15 to 20 no.
  • Onion(chopped)- 1/4 cup.
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp.
  • Red chili powder/ Paprika- 1 tsp.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Water- 1/3 cup.
To Temper:
  • Oil- 1 Tbsp.
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp.
  • Cumin- 1/2 tsp.
  • Hing- 1/2 tsp.
  • Curry Leaves- handful.

PROCEDURE:
  • Take a pan, add in broad beans, chopped onions, turmeric, paprika, salt and water, mix it together and let it cook until the broad beans are cooked(approximately 10 min).
  • Temper the mustard seeds, cumin, hing and curry leaves in hot oil and add it to the cooked broad beans, cook until the water is all absorbed by the broad beans.
  • Finally add in shredded coconut/ crushed peanuts at last to enhance the taste of the poriyal.
