Chicken Biryani(Athamma)


  1. In pressure cooker add oil, little ghee and add , then add onions, (Ginger+Garlic+Curry leaves+patta(1 inch piece)+lavangam(5)+ sompu(1  tbsp))  paste fry it well.
  2. Then add tomatoes and corriander leaves then add chicken fry it well until the pink colour of the chicken turns white, then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, curd(2 to 3 tbsp) and salt.Then add 1/2 of the water and Pressure cook it until 3 whistles.
  3. Once the pressure releases add little Garam masala, mix well then add Soaked rice, taste the salt, if it tastes less then add adequate amount. 
  4. Pressure cook again for 2 whistles, off the stove, move the cooker from stove. Serve when it is hot. Enjoy the delicious Biryani.
