Tamarind Chutney

Ingredients

  • Shredded Coconut- 1 cup
  • Urad Dal- handful
  • RedChillies- 2(small)
  • Tamarind- Lemon sized ball
  • Salt to taste
For Tempering
  • Oil- 3 tsp
  • (Mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, cumin seeds) - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves- 5
Preparation
  • Add oil in a pan, once heated add red chillies, urad dal saute until golden brown. turnoff the flame, let it cool and grind into fine powder first.
  • Add in coconut, tamarind and little water grind the chutney until blended fine.
  • Add little oil in the same pan and add temper the things mentioned under 'For Tempering'. Add it to the chutney, mix well and serve.
