Ingredients
- Raw Coconut(chopped)/ Shredded coconut- 1.5 cups
- Split Peas- 3/4 cup
- Green Chilies- 2(small)
- Tamarind- 1 inch
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves- hand full
For Tempering
- Oil- 1 Tbsp
- (Mustard seeds, Urad dal, chana dal, cumin seeds) - 1 tsp each.
Preparation
- Add split peas to the blender grind it to fine powder.
- Add in green chillies, coconut, tamarind, salt and curry leaves, blend it to a fine paste by adding require amount of water.
- Heat a pan, add in oil, mustard seeds, cumin, chana dal, urad dal.Let the mustard seeds splutter.
- Add this seasoning to the blended chutney.
- Tasty Coconut Split peas chutney is ready, you can serve this chutney for PONGAL, IDLY, DOSA or any SOUTH INDIAN BREAKFASTS.
