Bendakaya Pulusu/ Okra-Tamarind Curry



Ingredients

Okra- 1/2 kg
Onions(Big)- 1
Tomatoes(medium size)- 2
Red Chillies- 2
Ginger- Garlic Paste- 1 1/2 tsp
Tamarind- Lemon sized ball (Keep it in hot water for 5 min to make paste)
Fenugreek Seeds- 1/2 tsp 
Oil- 3tsp




For tempering:

(Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, Urad dal, Curry leaves)- 1 tbsp.

Spices:

Turmeric powder- pinch
Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Preparation

Heat pan and add oil first add Fenugreek seeds then add the things mentioned in 'for tempering', after spluttering add onions, salt, turmeric and Red chilli and Coriander powder. 


Add tomatoes and Okra once the onions turns transparent, saute till the stickiness in okra disappears. Then add Tamarind juice, Cook it until oil separates from the curry. Delicious Bendakaya pulusu is ready, serve it with steamed rice.
